The 1,000km Cruise (The 1KC) - 2021
COVID 19 update, 29th Oct 2021:
The Northern (Hamilton) and Southern Super-Thou routes are affected by the COVID-19 lockdown area in the Waikato region, neither of these rides will be ridable on Saturday 6th of November, but they can be done as 'virtual event' rides at some point in the next 12 months whenever it suits you.
The main Southern route (Wellington) has been re-routed to avoid the Southern Waikato area; this ride will continue, in-person on Saturday 6th of November, updated details are below. These will be emailed out to riders towards the end of this week.
Riders who had previously entered the Super-Thou are welcome to ride the main Wellington route on the day without needing to change their entry.

Saturday 6 November 2021 will once again see two 1,000km Cruise rides on the same day – the 1KCs.
One will start and finish in Wellington, the second will start and finish in the Hamilton area. The routes for each will be different, with briefing, instructions and checkpoint information sent to registered riders one week prior to the event. The Wellington 1KC usually has starting points for riders at Palmerston North and Masterton.
Pillion riders are allowed on the 1KC. There is no formal scrutineering of machines. Riders are expected to ensure that they and their bikes are legally roadworthy.
These are social rides, with plenty of opportunities for riders to stop and yack with each other. After-ride hospitality will be available at a pre-arranged venue. There will be commemorative badges and certificates awarded. Proceeds raised will be donated to Muscular Dystrophy New Zealand.
1KC rides start and finish on the same day. Riders usually start from 6:30am until 7:00am. Most are generally home by 8:00pm, with stragglers returning at up to 10:00pm.
