The North Island 1,600 is scheduled for the weekend of 11-12 October 2014.
The Organising Group has had a lot of expressions of interest and support on our Facebook page and by email. Many thanks for those.
Registrations please!
Remember that the North Island 1,600 is a ride organised for distance riders like you. Registrations are needed to make this event work.
While we’ve received completed registrations and entry fees from about 10 riders, a minimum of 30 will be needed for October’s event to be a successful goer. More than that will make things even greater, providing opportunities for people with a passion for distance riding to socialise and make lasting friendships with other elite riders.
So if you’re keen, then please get a registration form completed and returned to the Organisers, ASAP.
You’ll see that one of the options is a commemorative T-shirt. This is one way of celebrating your participation in the first of what should be many more North Island 1,600km events. Patches and pins are included in the $95.00 registration fee.
Registration forms are on our website www.distanceriders.org.nz as a downloadable form and as an electronic form. Completed downloadable forms can either be scanned and emailed to us or posted to NZ Distance Riders, PO Box 29017, Ngaio, Wellington 6443.
Please complete whichever form suits you best. Electronic forms will need to be physically signed. The organisers will print those off and have them available at the event registration in October.
Marshalls & Administrators
While registered riders are important to running successful events, so too are people willing and able to participate in organisational roles.
Again, we’ve had some strong interest from people prepared to act in a non-riding capacity. We need people for:
If you’ve had experience with those sorts of tasks before and are keen to get involved again, please let the Organisers know.
Other Events
We’ve had feedback from people interested in doing other distance events, similar to icons tours and the Southern Cross. If those sorts of things appeal to you, then please let the Organisers know.
If you’ve got a bright idea for a distance ride, then please share that with the Organising Group. If you’d like to get involved as an event Organiser, then please don’t be backward coming forward!
We’re looking forward to receiving lots of registrations:
