1KC ride entries – two days to go!
Final reminder: The closing date for entries for this year’s 1KC rides isTuesday 20 October 2015.

There’s an online entry form, as well as a PDF version that can be downloaded.
Most registrants and their pillions have now paid their $20.00 per participant. Thank you. Could those riders who are still to pay please make an online payment to Korowai Holdings Ltd, 06-0529-0641828-00 by close of play on Tuesday 20 October. Please include your name with first name initials, and 1KC in the payment reference field.
Some riders have paid but not registered. We’d really appreciate getting completed entry forms before you turn up first thing in the morning on Saturday 7 November.
Payments must be made by Tuesday 20 October 2015.
No refunds will be made after Wednesday 21 October 2015. This is because we will have committed to ordering rider badges by that time.
Ride date is Saturday 7 November
This year there are two 1KC rides. One starts and ends in Hamilton. One starts and ends in Wellington. Registered riders will be emailed detailed route instructions before the 1KC start date.

Update: The 1KC Wellington ride
The arrival destination for the 1KC Wellington ride this year is The Backbencher Pub and Café. This is located at 34 Molesworth Street, Wellington, straight across the road from Parliament. There’s nothing on at The Stadium that night, so there should be plenty of parking available in Molesworth Street, Kate Sheppard Place and Aitken Street. Watch out for the one-way system and bus depot traffic restrictions when planning your arrival and departure.
Spread the word – it’s not too late!
1KC rides are pretty social events, so spread the word around your riding buddies. Refer them to our previous newsletters for an indication of where the two rides are likely to go.
Value for money
The entry fee of $20.00 per participant (to be paid by riders AND pillions) is good value for a great cause. The residual funds after rider badges are paid for goes to Muscular Dystrophy.
Badges and certificates will be awarded after scrutineers have checked Check-Point photo evidence at the completion of the ride.
As this is an informal ride, you and your bike are your responsibility to ensure both are capable of completing the course. There is no recovery vehicle organised.
A register of starting riders will be kept to ensure everyone returns. The Ride Instructions will include a contact number to be called if riders withdraw.
There are spot prizes funded by Protecta Insurance, which has also made a generous donation to the Muscular Dystrophy coffers.
1KC rides are not a race and should be easily doable at a sedate pace with stops. Enjoy the ride!
The ride will go ahead rain, hail or shine – probably – or pending the Wednesday/Thursday before’s weather forecast.
