Turangi again in 2015!

15/12/2014

The second North Island 1,600 is locked and loaded for the weekend of 10-11 October 2015. We’ll be starting and finishing at the Turangi Kiwi Holiday Park.

It’s time to charm your family, book your leave, imagine whereabouts this year’s route will take you, put the hard word on your distance riding buddies, get a registration form completed and sent in to us, and then start counting down the days!

Details about accommodation arrangements, pricing and everything else on offer can be found here. There’s an online registration form and also a PDF version that can be downloaded, and returned by post or email.

We’re also keen to have a keen and dedicated bunch of volunteers who are able to help out with making happen everything that’s necessary to run this event. The support we had from this year’s team of volunteers was amazing and much appreciated by the organising group as well as all of the participating riders. You folk were amazing, and many thanks to you all once again!

Other distance rides
Those of you who may have previously participated in Southern Cross rallies or Gypsy Rides may be interested in this offering – the Round The Block Ride, scheduled for March 2015.

This week-long event is being organised by the team at Motorbike Escapes in Christchurch. And participation is free! (Not counting fuel, ferries, food, accommodation and other costs) Unless participants want a commemorative T-shirt. More details can be found here and also enrolling for their mailing list.

Detective work needed
Amongst our 150 newsletter list applications this year was one from Rob Taylor. Rob unfortunately provided an illegal email address and has remained beyond our ability to contact. If you’re reading this Rob, or if anybody else knows him, please make contact with an email address that works and you’ll be able to receive these newsletters.

Summer riding
Summer is here again. It’s an ideal time to get out and about enjoying the very best of motorcycling and the company of mates. Please take good care of yourselves and each other so that you can enjoy Distance Rider events in 2015 – and beyond!
